1 Elsa Turns Deadly As She Churns Northward

New Tropical Storm Warnings are being issued as Elsa moves north over Georgia. The National Hurricane Center says warnings are now in effect from South Carolina to New Jersey. Elsa is forecast to move into South Carolina this morning and officials expect slow weakening as it continues moving over land and think the storm will become a post-tropical cyclone late by tomorrow – but that doesn’t mean that she can’t create a mess in the meantime. To that end, one person was killed by a falling tree in Florida yesterday – courtesy of Elsa – and nearly a dozen people were injured at a campground on a Navy base in southern Georgia.

2 Surfside Collapse Officially Becomes A Recovery Mission

Officials in Florida have made the devastating decision to turn the Surfside condo collapse operation into a recovery mission. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava made the announcement yesterday. She also said eight more bodies have been recovered, bringing the total so far to 54 dead. That leaves the total of the unaccounted for at 86. The assistant Miami-Dade fire chief said after concluding that there was "no chance of life," their sole responsibility at this point is to bring closure to those who lost a loved one. With the shift in focus breaking the hearts of everyone on the scene, crews requested a pause for a moment of silence when the transition happened last night – about 7:15 local time.

3 Trump Suing Facebook, Twitter Executives Over Account Suspension

Former President Trump is suing Facebook, Twitter and Google over his account suspensions. Speaking at his golf club in New Jersey, Trump said big tech has become "enforcers of unconstitutional censorship." He's demanding prompt restoration of all his accounts as well as putting an end to "shadow-banning." Trump called this a pivotal battle for the First Amendment right to free speech, adding he's confident they will "achieve tremendous victory." But that’s not all, Trump is also accusing the federal government of making social media platforms the "de-facto censorship arm" of the government. He said big tech is "playing the refs" by working in tandem with all branches of the government, which he called a blatant violation of the Constitution.
