U.S. Central Command also says nearly one-thousand loads of material have departed Afghanistan. 3 First Responders Continue Efforts At Deadly Condo Collapse Site
Elsa may but churning off shore, but first responders are not stopping their efforts at the site of the deadly condo collapse in Surfside, Florida. After 14 days, the death toll now stands at 36, with 29 individuals having been identified. The list of missing is believed to be at around 100. Miami Dade Fire Chief Alan Cominsky says federal agencies and out of town rescuers are also still helping search through the piles of debris. This comes despite gusty winds and rain slowing the process down at times. Miami Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said crews continue to work through extremely adverse and challenging conditions, pausing only for lightning strikes. Cava has confirmed officials know 70 of the unaccounted were confirmed in the building when it collapsed.
