1 Suspect Held In Texas Workplace Shooting

A workplace shooting in Bryan, Texas left one person dead and five people wounded seriously. It happened at Kent Moore Cabinets where more than 200 people work. The suspect, who has been identified as 27-year-old Larry Bollin, is in custody and being held on a million-dollar bond. According to reports, the trouble began yesterday afternoon about 2:30pm local time – and by the time police arrived, Bollin had already taken off. He was arrested two hours later. Texas Governor Greg Abbott is promising the state will help in any way possible – and says he's been working with state troopers and the Texas Rangers on the investigation. He also says the suspect has been captured although Bryan police have not confirmed anything. No word on a potential motive – perhaps we’ll hear more about that today, when officials announce the names of the injured.

2 Biden Implementing Exec Actions On Gun Violence

President Biden is implementing a series of executive actions aimed at curbing gun violence. During a Rose Garden event, Biden called gun violence a public health crisis and an epidemic that is an "international embarrassment." He added, "Enough!" Vice President Harris said solutions can be found with the "will and the courage to act." Presidents are limited in what they can do on gun violence without broader action by the House and Senate. So that means that in order for any of his orders to stick, Congress will have to act. Otherwise, a situation similar to the morass surrounding immigration and Dreamers would arise. That may happen – Senators will soon take up House-passed legislation expanding background checks, but it faces a rough road in the tightly-divided Senate. And not just from Republicans – but from a number of Democrats as well.

3 Expert Testifies About George Floyd’s Cause Of Death

While the defense is trying to lay the blame for George Floyd’s death on the dead man himself, another prosecution expert is disputing that. In fact, the riveting testimony of Dr. Martin Tobin maintained that there was a singular cause of death for Mr. Floyd: Derek Chauvin’s weight on his neck. Dr. Tobin offered a point by point pushback on everything from the drugs in Floyd's system to the suggestions that Floyd’s health was at play. For one, Tobin told the jury the fentanyl Floyd took did not cut off oxygen to his brain and cause his heart to stop. Tobin said Floyd's death was caused in part by Chauvin's knee pressing against his neck, handcuffs pulling Floyd's hands behind his back, and Floyd's body being pressed against the street. He added that “even a healthy person...would have died.”
