1 CDC: Don't Want To Wear Masks Anymore? Get Vaccinated
The CDC's new COVID guidelines are bringing smiles to millions of vaccinated grandparents in the U.S. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky has announced fully vaccinated individuals can take part in small gatherings indoors with others who have been fully vaccinated. And that’s without facemasks or social distancing. In other words, most vaccinated grandparents now have the green light to hug their grandkids (and parents can even hug their adult kids if they’d like to). But for the CDC, new freedoms aren’t without risks or warnings. Officials are still concerned about the spread of coronavirus variants – and they want to make sure that even those who are vaccinated are still avoiding high risk exposures.
2 Biden Anxious To Sign COVID Stimulus Bill As He Readies First Primetime Address
President Biden is anxious to sign the sweeping stimulus bill that the Senate approved over the weekend. Biden told reporters he will sign it as soon as it hits his desk. Final House approval of the nearly two-trillion-dollar measure is expected this week – and officials say they expect to get it to Mr. Biden by the end of the week. The bill went back to the House because the Senate made some changes to the original measure. Biden is sure to talk about all that and more during his first primetime address to the American people – which is set for Thursday night. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki notes that Thursday marks the one-year anniversary of lockdowns related to the coronavirus outbreak.
3 Trump Calls Out Disloyal Republicans
Former President Trump is taking a stand against Republicans who aren't in step with the party – or at least, his version of what the GOP should be. In a statement, he said disloyal GOP politicians "do nothing but hurt" the party, adding "they will never lead us to Greatness." He’s not only called for donations to his Save America PAC – promising to make the party stronger than ever – he’s also demanding that the GOP remove his name from all fundraising materials. While the Republican National Committee says everything’s fine, it apparently not. As after the RNC maintained everything’s fine, he later released the statement calling for RNC donations to head his way. “No more money for RINOS,” he offered. “They do nothing but hurt the Republican Party and our great voting base—they will never lead us to Greatness. Send your donation to Save America PAC at DonaldJTrump.com. We will bring it all back stronger than ever before!”
