1 Atlanta Man Shot By Police Was Shot In The Back
An autopsy reveals that Rayshard Brooks died of two gunshot wounds to the back. That's according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office, who issued a report last night. The death has also been classified as a homicide. In case you missed it, Brooks was killed by police after a confrontation and a scuffle in a Wendy's parking lot on Friday night in Atlanta, Georgia. The killing set off another round of protests in the city and led to the firing of one officer, another being placed on administrative leave...and the police chief stepping down. As if that’s not enough, now lawyers for Brooks' family say the officers involved in shooting him Friday night manipulated the scene before they checked on his condition. Attorney Chris Stewart says witnesses recorded video of the officers putting on gloves and then picking up the shell casings while Brooks was dying. Stewart said it took the officers more than two minutes before they checked on him. According to police, an officer fired at Brooks was running away after obtaining a police Taser during the scuffle. Officers say he was pointing the Taser at them and it appeared he was about to use it. Stewart said a Taser is not a lethal weapon in Georgia, something he knows well because he's lost many cases when his clients claimed police used it against them.
2 Trump Bumps His Planned Juneteenth Rally
President Trump is pushing back the date of his rally in Oklahoma. Taking to Twitter, Trump says that he will now address supporters in Tulsa on June 20th, one day later than the original date. Given the date and what’s going on in the country. Trump took serious heat. For those who don’t know, June 19th – known as Juneteenth – is the holiday that recognizes the end of slavery in the U.S. He explained many of his "African American friends and supporters" reached out and suggested holding the event on a different day. And to ask Tim Scott – the only African-American Republican in the Senate and one of only three Black senators in total – it’s a lack of knowledge that had Trump schedule his first campaign rally in months on that date in the first place. The Senator explains that once Trump was made aware of the date’s significance, he opted to make the shift. Meanwhile, a top White House adviser says people should wear protective masks to President Trump's campaign rally. Larry Kudlow told CNN's “State of the Union” the recent surge in coronavirus cases "is a concern." When asked if those attending Tulsa event should wear masks, Kudlow said "probably so."

So far, ten neighborhoods in the city of over 20-million have been locked down and officials are trying to track down anyone who may have the virus. Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci says something that looks “like normal” won't return any time soon. Speaking with the British newspaper, “The Telegraph,” the top infectious disease expert said he hopes a sense of normalcy will return "within a year or so." However, he's not looking for that to happen in the upcoming fall or winter. In the bid to return to normal, Fauci said there are multiple coronavirus vaccines which are "making significant progress." Fauci also shared some words of hope as the battle against the virus continues. He notes, "This will end."
