Lukas Nelson and Shooter Jennings cover “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys,” the 1978 hit by their fathers, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, for the soundtrack to the Netflix series “The Ranch.” The song is actually the theme song to the show, but now the full version has finally been released for the first time.“Lukas and I had a great time in the studio," Shooter shares. "We came up with an alternate rhythm that changes the vibe a little bit from the original — that gave us the space to make it our own...I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to sing this song with my brother and just have fun with it.” Lukas adds, “Working with Shooter was an honor. We had a great time in the studio and I would love to do it again many times.” The soundtrack to “The Ranch” is out today.
