LSU 63 OU 28: Burrows Has Record Setting Eight-TD Bowl Performance

Joe Burrow, the Heisman Trophy winner put on a record shattering performance that saw him throw seven first half passing TD’s. Burrow—who won the Heisman Trophy earlier this month in the most lopsided vote in history—kept that whole lopsided thing going—when he threw seven first half TD passes as the Number One ranked Tigers opened a 49-14 lead over the Number Four Sooners at the half. Burrow's seven touchdown passes were the most in a half of a bowl game by any player in FBS history and tied for the most in a bowl game. Then—for good measure—Burrow opened the second half with a 13-play, 74-yard drive that he capped himself with a three-yard TD run for his eighth of the game giving the Tigers a 56-14 lead. He didn’t even play the fourth quarter… then again—he played four games worth of football in the first three. Next up for the Tigers of KSU are the defending National Champion Tigers of Clemson who rallied from a 16-0 deficit to beat the Buckeyes 29-23 in the Fiesta Bowl.
