3 Things To Know Today

1 MN Natl Guard Confirms Helicopter Crash

Governor Tim Walz has confirmed that all three crew members in a Minnesota Army National Guard helicopter crash are dead. They haven’t been identified pending identification of family, but we do know that the UH-60 Black Hawk went down south of St. Cloud, about nine-minutes after takeoff from an Army aviation facility. As the investigation moves forward, officials say they lost contact with the aircraft while it was out on a maintenance test flight yesterday afternoon. The Saint Paul Fire Department says they responded to the scene after the helicopter sent a "mayday" call. "On behalf of all Minnesotans, we offer our deepest sympathies to the families of these warriors," Governor Walz says in a statement. "They paid the ultimate price and service to Minnesota and to the United States of America. Words will never ease the pain of this tragic loss and the state of Minnesota is forever in the debt of these warriors."

2 Pelosi Moves Ball Forward On Impeachment, Spats With Reporter

In a move that would surprise no one, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the Judiciary Committee will start drafting articles of impeachment against President Trump. Speaking at the Capitol yesterday, Pelosi argued that Trump violated the Constitution in the Ukraine scandal. She said the "facts are uncontested – the President abused power for his personal benefit, at the expense of national security, by withholding military aid" to Ukraine "for an announcement of an investigation into his political rival” (a reference to former VP Joe Biden). Pelosi noted that “no one is above the law.” But at the end of the presser came something that few could have predicted. James Rosen, a former Fox News correspondent who now works for the Sinclair Broadcast Group, asked Pelosi if any of the current events were happening because she “hates” the President. She was not amused.
