DONALD TRUMP has become the first sitting President to set inside North Korea. It happened yesterday, after Trump met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the Demilitarized Zone (or 'DMZ'). They shook hands, and Kim said, quote, "It's good to see you again, I never expected to meet you at this place."They then walked over to the North Korean side, shook hands again, and then came back over to South Korea. Trump later said that it basically came together at the last minute, and he was "proud" to have done it . . . and that he and Kim have a, quote, "great friendship." It was Trump's third meeting with Kim in a little over a year, and the first since February, when their nuclear talks broke down. No deal came out of this meeting either, but they talked for about an hour, and pledged to set up teams to resume their nuclear talks. Over the past year, Trump's bold diplomacy has reduced tensions on the Korean peninsula . . . but at least for now, it hasn't stopped Kim from continuing to expand his nuclear arsenal. By the way, former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have both been to North Korea, but only after they left office. And several presidents, including Barack Obama, have been to the border . . . but haven't crossed over. Finally, Trump Tweeted, quote, "Leaving South Korea after a wonderful meeting with Chairman Kim Jong Un.Stood on the soil of North Korea, an important statement for all, and a great honor!"
