3 things To Know Today

1 Trump Speaks For “30 Hours”

In an unprecedented special, newsman George Stephanopoulos got incredible access – and wasn’t afraid to challenge the President during the "30 Hours" they spoke. And while the President appeared to be very candid – he was also unmoved. That was especially true on questions about the “Mueller Report.” And he also wasn’t without snark. When Stephanopoulos pressed about the fact that Robert Mueller’s investigation had not cleared Mr. Trump with regard to obstruction, Trump pointedly suggested that Stephanopoulos “read the report” and accused Stephanopoulos of “being a little wise guy.” Beyond that, Trump said healthcare is the big piece of unfinished business from his first term that he plans to tackle should he win a second. Trump explained that his administration has stabilized Obamacare and made it serviceable, but it's still not great. As for his future? Not only is he not worried about what polls appear to say, he’s not concerned about potential criminal charges Meanwhile, President Trump's re-election campaign is firing some of its pollsters after polling information was leaked. The data showed that Trump was lagging behind former Vice President Joe Biden in several key states. The polling information that was leaked showed Biden leading Trump by double-digits in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan. Trump beat Clinton in those states in 2016 and they proved decisive in the hotly contested race.

2 Saudis Side With Trump Administration In Blaming Iran For Bombing Tankers

While Iran continues to deny involvement in last week's attacks on a pair of oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, the United States maintains they’re totally guilty. Joining Britain in siding with the US? Saudi Arabia – and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is calling on the international community to take a "decisive stand" – though he says he doesn’t want war. As we reported last week, two tankers were hit and damaged in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday. And while Britain backed the US pretty quickly, Japan – who owns one of the damaged freighters – says they need more proof. Meanwhile, Iran is expected to announce additional steps to reduce its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal. Reports out of Tehran say Iran's Atomic Energy Organization will announce preparatory steps tomorrow to further decrease its commitments under the deal. Last year, the U.S. withdrew from the deal Iran made with global powers to limit nuclear activity in exchange for lifting sanctions. The move isn’t unexpected, as last month, Iran stopped complying with some of its commitments under the deal, and said it would start enriching uranium at a higher level unless world powers protected its economy from U.S. sanctions within 60 days.

3 Indiana In Recovery As Eight Tornadoes Touch Down Saturday

Cleanup is ongoing today after the National Weather Service confirmed at least eight tornadoes hit Indiana over the weekend. An EF-1 tornado that was 200-yards wide was confirmed to have hit the town of Beech Grove with winds of 100 miles-per-hour and caused widespread damage. In Ellettsville, buildings are damaged as apartment rooftops caved in and water flooded rooms. The twisters also downed power lines across the area. According to the Greene County Emergency Management Agency, a tornado hit with wind speeds were upwards of 120 to 130 miles per hour chewed through their area. The very good news? There are no reports of deaths or injuries. "As long as long as nobody gets hurt and everybody can go home to their families,” says Clark County Fair President Chris O'Rourke. “That's the important thing."
