A day after Oklahoma was hit with as many as 17 tornadoes, residents in the region braved reports of 30 more – mainly in Kansas and Missouri. But in Oklahoma, twisters weren’t as much of an issue as flooding. Emergency crews rescued dozens of people from their homes and cars yesterday – some happening on live TV – after heavy rains led to flash flooding in the Oklahoma City area. But the danger isn’t over yet. As a new system pushes through, the National Weather Service says high winds and hail may arrive before tornadoes again threaten parts of Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois. Storms today are promising to produce more harsh weather as heavy rainfall drops on the eastern regions of Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, making flash floods possible.
