The Tropical Depression Two churning in the Eastern Gulf has strengthened to now become Tropical Storm Bertha.
NOAA reports the wind speeds of Bertha have increased to at least 40-miles-per-hour. Bertha could bring heavy rain, strong wind gusts and storm surge along the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to as far west as the Middle Texas Coast.
Bertha is the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
At the end of the week, the Hurricane Center thinks the system will reach Texas, but whether or not it will still be a Tropical Storm or a Tropical Depression remains to be seen.
