Former Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's Senate Impeachment Trial Begins

The impeachment trial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton continues today in Austin. Paxton has pleaded not guilty to the 16 charges against him. On Wednesday, Paxton's former second-in-command, Jeff Mateer, testified that his former boss abused the power of his office to help a political donor. The Texas House impeached Paxton in May, and the Republican-led state Senate will decide whether to remove him from office. The trial is expected to last for weeks.
