A high speed chase and shootout with officers has left a murder suspect out of Corpus Christi dead.
It happened on I-37 south of San Antonio about 18 miles north of Pleasanton in Atascosa County. Deputies used spike strips to get the driver to stop. When he got out, he was armed with a gun and was wearing a bulletproof vest. There was a shootout and the suspect died.
The Atascosa County Sheriff's Department says no officers were injured.
