Some Texas senators are putting forth a bundle of bills intended to shore up the state's power grid by steering it away from wind and solar. The nine bills announced on Thursday would shift the state's focus toward more reliable energy resources like oil and natural gas. The authors and supporters of the bills says their aim is to provide more power in the state that can be quickly turned on and off on demand. The deadly winter storm of February 2021 has brought a lot of attention to the resilience and reliability of the state's grid.
