United Plane Took Steep Dive On Flight To San Francisco

A San Francisco-bound United Airlines flight was within less than 775 feet of plunging into the Pacific Ocean late last year. That's according to a new report in "Air Current," which was confirmed by United Airlines. The plane reportedly took a steep dive after departing from Maui on December 18th of last year. The plane took off during heavy rain and a flash flood warning and reportedly fell at about 86-hundred-feet per minute before making a full recovery. The dive and recovery happened in 45 seconds and the plane landed safely in San Francisco. The dive produced nearly three times the force of gravity on the plane and its passengers. The NTSB is investigating.
