Western fiction fans will soon have the opportunity to own the typewriter used to create the Pulitzer Prize-winning Lonesome Dove series. Larry McMurtry's private possessions are hitting the auction block in his home state of Texas.

In addition to the typewriter, there will also be some first editions of his novels including Terms of Endearment, which was turned into a movie. The auction is set to be held in San Antonio.

McMurtry, who also helped write the screenplay for Brokeback Mountain, died two years ago. He was 84-years old.
