Oxford Dictionaries Announces Word Of The Year

Oxford Dictionaries is announcing its word of the year for 2022. "Goblin mode" was chosen by the public from three different options that were voted on over two weeks. It defines the term as "a type of behavior which is unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations." Oxford said its word of the year is a reflection of the mood of the past year and also something that has a lasting cultural significance.
