The Texas Secretary of State is resigning. John Scott will serve out the rest of the month. His resignation letter says he plans to return to private practice. Prior to serving, Scott was an attorney for former President Trump in a failed lawsuit challenging the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania. After taking the job, he constantly fought against those who expressed serious skepticism about Joe Biden's victory.
