UTSA Ranked 25th In USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll

Following a 41-7 road win over Rice on Saturday, UTSA has entered the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll  at No. 25. 

The Roadrunners received 70 points in this week’s coaches poll to move into the national rankings for the first time since Dec. 5, 2021. Last year, UTSA rose to as high as No. 16 in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll on Nov. 7 and 15th for three weeks in a row in the Associated Press Top 25 last November. 

UTSA totaled 85 votes in this week’s AP Top 25 and is the first team listed as receiving votes outside the rankings, just ahead of South Carolina (44). 

Winners of eight consecutive games, the Roadrunners are 9-2 overall and have captured the Conference USA regular season crown with a 7-0 league mark. UTSA will host the C-USA Championship Game for the second straight year at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at the Alamodome against an opponent to be determined. Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting Tuesday, Nov. 22. 

The Roadrunners will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 26, with the regular season finale against UTEP. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome and the game will air on Stadium (CW 35 in San Antonio) and Ticket 760 AM.
