Sale Of San Antonio Missions To New Ownership Group Is Concluded

The San Antonio Missions minor league baseball team is now under new ownership. A group called Designated Bidders LLC bought the team from the Elmore Group for a reported $28 million. The new ownership group includes prominent local businessmen and sports stars, including Spurs greats Manu Ginobili and David Robinson, in addition to Bruce Hill, Randy Smith, Graham Weston, Bob Cohen and Peter J. Holt amongst others. Ryan Sanders Baseball, owned by Nolan Ryan, Reid Ryan and Don Sanders, join Designated Bidders as owners and operators of the club. A news conference is scheduled for this morning at Wolff Stadium to announce the deal. San Antonio City Council last week approved the transfer of the stadium's current lease to the new owners.
