The Astros finished the regular-season strong after a 3-2 victory over the Phillies in Houston. Framber Valdez got his 17th win with five shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out 10. Christian Vazquez crushed his first homer with the Astros, while Yordan Alvarez and Chas McCormack each drove in a run. Ryan Pressley earned his 33rd save of the season as Houston ended the year with a 106-and-56 record. Brandon Marsh drove in a run for the Phillies, who ended 87-and-75 and are back in action on Friday when they head to Saint Louis for game one of the N-L Wild Card series. The Astros will play next week in the Divisional Series as they secured a first-round bye.
