Some CPS Energy employees are on their way to Florida to help keep the lights on in the wake of Hurricane Ian. The Category 4 storm made landfall on Wednesday afternoon in southwestern Florida. In response to a request for help from the Jacksonville Electric Authority, about three-dozen CPS employees set out on Wednesday for the storm zone. The crews expect to replace utility poles and repair power lines that were damaged by storm winds.
