Candidate filing for the 2022 Texas primary is closed as of Monday evening. In addition to the governor's race, every seat in the Texas Legislature is on the ballot because of redistricting. Data from the 2020 U.S. Census has increased the number of congressional seats from 36 to 38. Both parties will hold their primary elections on March 1st. The general election will be November 8th.
