The University of Texas will no longer require its employees to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. A federal judge issued an order on Tuesday temporarily halting President Biden's vaccine mandate for federal contractors across the nation. After that decision, the university stated on Wednesday that it was no longer legally compelled to require the vaccinations. Gov. Greg Abbott has banned local vaccine mandates by local governments and all public and private entities in Texas, including universities.
