U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland says the Justice Department is looking at ways to challenge the new abortion law in Texas. Garland said his office is "urgently" exploring options in response to the "Heartbeat Act," which bans abortions after fetal cardiac activity is detected. The Attorney General said the department will continue to protect those that obtain or provide abortion services by enforcing the FACE Act, which prohibits threats and physical obstruction against people seeking to enter reproductive health clinics.
