A suspect is dead and a Corpus Christi police officer expected to survive following an early morning shootout. It happened early this morning on Quetzal in Flour Bluff when officers confronted a burglary suspect. Interim Police Chief David Blackmon says the suspect shot one cop while trying to escape before other officers shot him. Those officers are on administrative leave. It's the second deadly officer-involved shooting in a 24-hour period. A man was killed yesterday morning after police say he tried to break up an arrest.
