Musk Says First SpaceX Ocean Platform Ready To Go Next Year

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk says construction is underway on an offshore spaceport, with launches set to begin next year. The company bought two oil rigs off the coast of Texas in June of 2020 and one of them, Deimos, should be operational by 2022. The floating spaceport is expected to serve as the launchpad and landing platform for the SpaceX Starship which Musk plans to use to get to Mars.
