Tourists And Customers Returning To Downtown San Antonio

Tourists and shoppers are returning to downtown San Antonio after a pandemic-dampened year. The number of new coronavirus cases is declining as the number of people vaccinated increases. Downtown businesses say they're expecting a busy and profitable summer season. Hospitality is a 15-billion-dollar industry in San Antonio, and hotels and conventions took a beating last year. Richard Oliver with Visit SA says hotel occupancy in 2020 hit a low of 20%. He says hotels expect to hit 60-percent for Memorial Day Weekend.
