Judges Rule Paxton Fraud Case Should Return To Collin County

The fraud case against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton may be on its way back to Collin County. A Houston court panel transferred the case to Collin County today although special prosecutors are expected to appeal to the full court. Paxton was indicted by the Collin County grand jury in 2015 on securities fraud accusations. Prosecutors say Paxton did not tell investors in a North Texas technology company he was being paid by the CEO. Paxton paid a thousand-dollar state fine for not registering as an investment adviser in 2014 calling it an oversight. The case was moved to Houston in 2017 and kept in legal limbo ever since.
