City officials say it may take several years for the San Antonio economy to recover fully from the pandemic. City staff presented forecasts to city council members on Wednesday. The figures say the city's Hotel Occupancy Tax fund may not reach pre-pandemic levels until fiscal year 2025. The fund was particularly hard-hit when the pandemic led to the cancellation of dozens of conventions and other events. But the forecast didn't take the latest federal pandemic relief bill into account. The city will receive hundreds of millions of dollars, most of which is available to offset lost revenues.
