Police Release Photo Of Austin Murder Suspect's Arrest

A former Travis County Sheriff's detective is under arrest in connection with an Austin triple murder. Manor police say Stephen Broderick was captured this morning while walking along a road. He's accused of shooting the victims yesterday at an apartment complex in the Arboretum area. Police have called the killings a domestic situation but no other details have been released. Broderick resigned from the Sheriff's office last year after being accused of sexual assault of a child.

"Two callers reported to dispatch that a male subject fitting the description of Stephen Broderick was walking south bound on Old Kimbro Rd wearing a black shirt and dark jeans,"said Manor police."Manor Police Department Officers arrived on scene and immediately conducted a high risk stop on the subject who was identified as Broderick. Broderick complied with officer’s orders and was immediately taken into custody at 7:05am. A loaded pistol was taken from Broderick’s waistband."
