Nearly 6,000 Crashes Involving Pedestrians Across The State Last Year

The Texas Department of Transportation reports there were nearly 6,000 crashes involving pedestrians throughout Texas in 2020. TxDOT says 669 of those were deadly, which is a five-percent increase from 2019. The agency describes most of the accidents as avoidable because some of the biggest causes are drivers failing to pay attention, failing to yield the right of way, and speeding.
