City Shuts Down Homeless Encampment

A large homeless encampment has been shut down in downtown San Antonio. The tent city had been set-up underneath Interstate 37 near Brooklyn Avenue.

The city of San Antonio's Department of Human Services, along with TxDOT and San Antonio Police worked today to move the homeless out of the encampment and to try to get them assistance.

City officials say the Department of Human Services has been working for weeks to give information to the homeless who were camped there about programs that are offered in the city and that the tent city couldn't remain.
