Austin To Buy Hotel For The Homeless

The city of Austin is moving forward with plans to purchase a hotel to house the homeless. The Austin city council has voted to push ahead with a plan to spend $6,750,000 on the 65-room Texas Bungalows Hotel and Suites. The hotel was built less than 3 years ago. Proponents say the hotel will be used to support the homeless in Austin with shelter, job training and mental health resources.
