Trump Administration Gets Border Wall Contract For TX Land It Doesn't Own

The Trump administration has contracts to build a stretch of the border wall on Texas land it doesn't own. The federal government has reportedly been awarded at least a dozen contracts in Texas since 2017 before acquiring all the land needed for the projects. U.S. Customs and Border Protection points out that awarding contracts without first obtaining the land is efficient. President-elect Joe Biden says he plans to cancel wall construction and drop lawsuits on his first day in office.
