UIL Suspends Edinburg High School Player Who Attacked Ref

The Edinburg High School football player who attacked a referee will not be able to play sports for the rest of the academic year. The University Interscholastic League voted Monday morning to suspend Emmanuel Duron from all sponsored activities. Duron became angry at the referee earlier this month after being ejected from a playoff game. He has been charged with assault and apologized for the attack. Edinburg High was also put on probation for two years, and Duron's coach was given a one-year probation.
