TEA Cancels A To F Grades For Schools, But Keeps STAAR Tests

The STAAR test will go on as scheduled next spring, but schools and school districts will not be impacted by the results. The Texas Education Agency announced yesterday that they will not be rating campuses and districts on an A-to-F scale that is based mostly on the results of the tests. Commissioner Mike Morath has been opposed to canceling the tests, stating that they are useful to see how much students have learned during the pandemic.
