Fort Hood Head Promises Change After Sex Harassment, Abuse Report

The head of a Central Texas Army post is promising to make changes following a scathing sexual harassment and abuse report. Lieutenant General Robert "Pat" White says he has accepted all the recommendations made by the panel and promised battalion and brigade leaders at Fort Hood would implement them.

An independent investigation said post commanders put female soldiers at risk by not correctly implementing the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention program. Over a dozen leaders were fired or suspended on Tuesday in response to the investigation which launched after Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen vanished and was later found dead earlier this year.

White gathered the troops on Tuesday afternoon, telling the group the report and allegations at the base were shocking and change must take place. "We've got a problem that we have to fix. A three-star general can't fix it on his own. I absolutely need you to be on the team," said White.
