Driver May Face Charges After Pedestrian Is Hit And Killed

Police say a driver may face charges after briefly leaving the scene of a fatal auto-pedestrian accident. A 65-year-old man was crossing Gillette Boulevard on foot near South Zarzamora Street on Monday evening when he was hit by a car. Officers say the driver, described as a man in his teens or early 20s, left the scene, but soon returned and identified himself to police. Ambulance personnel tried to save the victim's life, but he died at the scene. Police say the driver was questioned and could face charges.
