Texas Bill Would Bar Police Agencies From Doing Reality TV

A new bill to be considered by the Texas Legislature would ban state and local police from participating in reality TV shows. State Rep. James Talarico, a Democrat from Round Rock, filed the bill in response to the death of Javier Ambler in the custody of Williamson County deputies. Ambler died last year after deputies arrested him for not dimming his headlights. Deputies Tasered Ambler four-times, and he died because he had congestive heart failure. The show "Live PD" recorded Ambler's death and was canceled soon afterward.
