Former Blue Bell President Indicted On Fraud Charges In Listeria Case

The former president of Blue Bell Creameries is charged with wire fraud and conspiracy arising from the company's bout with listeria in 2015. The Justice Department announced Wednesday that Paul Kruse is charged with seven counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud for reportedly trying to cover up the listeria contamination of two Blue Bell ice cream products. A grand jury filed the indictment in federal court in Austin. The contamination of the Brenham-based creamery's products resulted in three deaths in Kansas.
