Three Local School Districts Make Election Day A Holiday For Safety Reasons

Education

Three local school districts are making Election Day a school holiday because of anticipated crowds at campus voting sites. North East ISD says 42 of its campuses will be used as polling places. In addition, 67 Northside ISD campuses and three in East Central will be used on Election Day. Because of the lingering pandemic, the three districts are taking a holiday on Election Day so that no kids will be on campus.
