U.S. Attorney In Western Texas District Announces Resignation

The U.S. Attorney for the Western Texas District which includes Austin and San Antonio is resigning. U.S. Attorney John Bash made the announcement yesterday. His last day with the Department of Justice is this coming Friday. He appointed Gregg Sofer as his replacement. Bash was appointed United States Attorney by President Trump in December 2017. The Western District of Texas employs around three-hundred staffers and covers 68 counties with offices in Alpine, Austin, Del Rio, El Paso, Midland, San Antonio, and Waco.
