Feds Say San Antonio Auctioned Hundreds Of Service Members' Vehicles

Federal officials say San Antonio has to pay for towing and auctioning hundreds of vehicles belonging to military personnel and veterans. The Justice Department says the city sold at least 227 vehicles belonging to vets between 2011 and 2019 without the required court orders. On Thursday, city officials and the Justice Department agreed the city must pay 47-thousand-dollars to two vets who complained. The city will also establish a 150-thousand-dollar fund to repay other service members whose vehicles were sold, and pay a 62-thousand-dollar fine to the U.S. Treasury.
