Texas Schools To File Weekly Reports With State On New COVID-19 Cases

Starting next month, Texas school districts will be required to file weekly reports to the state about new coronavirus cases among teachers, staff, or students. State education officials announced Thursday that the reports are to include cases contracted both on and off campus, and indicate whether the campus had to be closed. The reporting requirement takes effect on September 8th, and school districts that start the school year prior to that date must include earlier cases as well. State law already requires school superintendents to report the details of all coronavirus cases to local health officials.
