Texas Education Leaders Debate What's Taught In Sex-Ed Classes

The Texas State Board of Education is discussing the first overhaul of health curriculum standards in more than 20 years. The discussion got started with a public hearing on Monday. There's a debate over what kids are taught in sex education classes, including contraception, sexual orientation and gender identity. But Mary Elizabeth Castle with Texas Values says kids should be taught biology, not gender identity. A final vote on the changes will be in November. Texas buys so many textbooks, the decision will affect the entire nation.
