Seattle Cop Forcibly Moves Officer's Knee From Neck Of Detained Man

A Seattle police officer was filmed putting his knee of the neck of a man he was detaining during a protest over the killing of George Floyd while in the custody of now-former Minneapolis police officers. Floyd died after Derek Chauvin held his knee on Floyd's neck for more than eight minutes.

Officers were responding to the area after looters broke into a T-Mobile store. When they arrived, the crowd attempted to flee. Officers began chasing after the looters and managed to wrestle some of them to the ground.

video shared on Twitter by Matt McKnight, a journalist for Crosscut, showed two officers tackling a white man in an orange vest to the ground. As they attempt to cuff the man, one of the officers places his knee on the suspect's neck. Other officers moved in front of the two cops to protect them from the crowd, which was screaming for the officer to move his knee.

After nearly 15 seconds, the second officer forcibly moves his fellow cop's knee away from the man's neck and onto his back. Once they had the man handcuffed, he was picked up off the ground and led away.
