Equipment At Freeman Coliseum Decontaminates Masks For Reuse

Decontamination equipment at the Freeman Coliseum is making used masks ready to be worn again. San Antonio Fire Department Chief Charles Hood says the systems made by the company Battelle can decontaminate up to 80,000 N95 respirator masks a day. The equipment uses hydrogen peroxide vapor to sanitize the masks so they're safe to use again. Hood says the company is working with emergency and health agencies in 28 counties.
