Paxton Appeals Unnecessary Medical Procedures Order Stay

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is appealing a stay of the state's moratorium on unnecessary medical procedures. Paxton filed the appeal today with the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, saying abortion providers are withholding medical supplies during the coronavirus pandemic. Paxton also accused abortion advocates of hypocrisy by suggesting it's an 'essential procedure' after previously calling it a choice. A federal judge issued the Temporary Restraining Order yesterday, days after the Fifth Circuit vacated a similar decision.
